(3rd Sunday in Lent) "It Couldn't Be Worse" Luke 13:1-5 Much of life is lived according to "comparisons." This is true even when it comes to the idea of sinfulness. We "compare" ourselves to others in order to feel better about our own "goodness." This causes us to believe we are not all that bad when it comes to sin, because others are worse. But the One who is meant to be our comparison is God. Only then do we recognize the full extent of our sin, and the need for His mercy and grace which are found in our Savior, Jesus Christ.
