Luke 7:18-28 Jesus pointed out to the Pharisees the fact that they didn't like the message of John the Baptist, which called for people to repent of their sins, nor did they like the message and ministry of Jesus, which brought grace to those who needed forgiveness. Christianity needs both the Law and the Gospel in order to remain what God intends for it to be. The Law causes us to know that we need forgiveness. The Gospel tells us that our forgiveness has been won by Jesus.
